This temple built after the style: Baroque Churrigueresco. There is also a convent built next to it.

This temple was built by the Franciscan Friars by the end of the 16th Century. The chapel was built during the 18th century. Due to the earthquake prone zone, the temple has had several reconstructions; the last one was in the middle of the twentieth century.

In 1860 the Friar’s were expulsed by the politicians and the buildings were appropriated by the secular government of Mexico.
