The temple is made out of stone quarry and has a Baroque style. What's most eye catching about it, is its red dome, and her magnificent tower.

Don't waste the opportunity to visit the interior of the temple, where you will be able to appreciate original paintings created during the era of the Spanish viceroys, and to see the Christ figure made out of corn cane.

It is called the Nun's Temple, because the temple used to belong to the Convent of St. Catherine, which was inhabited by Dominican nuns. These nuns use to live in the convent next to the Rose Temple, before they moved here during the middle of the 18th century. It is said that when they moved here their perenigration was a sad one accompanied by the bell towing of the Rose Temple.

Nun Temple

The idea is that they were so happy living in the previous convent, that they felt sad when they had to settle down in a new one.
