It’s a Mesoamerican word, from the Zapotec people, meaning “beautiful lady”. Of course the original word is written not using the Roman alphabet, but an indigenous system of writing, instead. Its current written form stems from its phonetic structure in Spanish.
This particular bay is the most developed bay for tourists in relation to the rest of the bays. Here you will find 5 star hotels and resorts, a commercial mall and an 18 par golf course with a view to the Pacific Ocean. You can also find typical tourist commodities such as water skiing, scuba diving, and kayaking.
If your not staying in one of the hotels. Then know that beaches in Mexico are public, and everyone in Mexico must have access to public land.
Tangolunda Bay
There is a small entrance through the boulevard with public parking. You can then walk about 3 minutes from the public parking lot to the beach. There is nothing particular special about the public parking place. I drove inside with a small two door car rental.
