A very long staircase leads to the main entrance of the university. The religious group named, “Compania de Dios” founded the institution in 1732. However, it was initially used as a hospice. It was not until the 1950’s that it received its present name. It is a modern style building with local green quarry stone.

You can clearly view the Pipila Monument, located towards the front, as well as other places of interest. Sit on the stairs to feel the friendly student vibe. As an important note, inside the university, one can find an original façade of an ancient temple that was rescued from the cities floods.
