This peaceful plaza is very close to the main theater of Guanajuato and to el “Jardin Union.” Its main attraction is a Florentine style bronze fountain. It’s surrounded by a green railing and flowerpots. It’s historically significant because it was one of the first to receive water from the local dam named “Presa de la Olla” and distributed to the locals.
I recommend trying the famous “guacamayas,” which are a type of sandwich filled with pork crackling, boiled eggs, avocado and salsa. They are really delicious. Returning to the plaza, a Market used to be in its place until the end of the 19th century. Its fountain used to be apart of Plaza de la Paz.
